Each week, The Capital Gazette will list the top 10 performances from Anne Arundel County high schools. We are also opening a public poll in which readers can cast their vote for who they think the county Athlete of the Week should be. Readers can vote once per hour through Sunday evening.

Northeast boys basketball’s Josh Howard ran away with the voting with 47.42% of the vote. South River boys basketball’s Jonah Hall took silver with 17.84%. Annapolis’ Audrey Skinner placed third with 7.98%. South River girls basketball’s Cami Burke finished fourth with 7.04%.

Kaleb McGhee-Rivero, Broadneck, indoor track
After choosing to try indoor track, the junior qualified for the Nike Indoor Nationals with a 6-foot, 5-inch high jump – a school record – on Thursday. He also ran 6.58 in the 55-meter dash, only 0.01 seconds off his program mark, too.
Chris Maddox, Glen Burnie, boys basketball
The senior guard dropped a 29-point game against North County on Friday.
Kiery Matkins, Chesapeake, girls basketball
The senior small forward netted 30 points games against AACS – as well as four assists and three steals – and Northeast – 16 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and four steals.
Makel Wilder, Old Mill, boys basketball
The Patriots’ senior averaged 21.5 points across two games last week.
Finley Mullervy, Severna Park, wrestling
The heavyweight began his season with a 9-0 record, recording six pins.
McKenzie Fuller, Annapolis, girls basketball
The senior drained 18 points and six rebounds to help her Panthers rout Crofton on Friday.
Liam Sabo, Broadneck, boys basketball
Sabo stepped up in an overtime victory over rival Severna Park on Friday with 19 points and 15 rebounds. He also scored eight points in a one-point win over Cambridge South Dorchester on Dec. 9
Jaden McDuffie, South River, boys basketball
The senior recorded two 30-point games last week against Southern and North Point.
Masara Magassouba, Indian Creek, girls basketball
The sophomore shooting guard spurred her Eagles to a 2-1 week, including a road win over Bowie. She averaged 16.7 points, three rebounds and three steals.
Alexandra Vandiver, St. Mary’s, girls basketball
The senior East Carolina commit amassed 59 points across three games last week – 27 against Notre Dame Prep last Monday, 14 against St. Timothy’s last Wednesday and 18 against St. Luke’s Grammar of Australia on Thursday, all wins.
