According to police, officers responded to the 100 block of East Cross Street around 1:54 a.m. to investigate reports of an unresponsive person lying in a parking lot.
Police said that upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. Responding medics pronounced the unidentified victim dead on the scene, according to police.
The block where the shooting took place is right next to Cross Street Market, in an area with many restaurants that tends to be busy on Saturday nights.
