If somebody who had worked for me was found by police drunk and combative in his workplace with a bottle of liquor on the desk, who opened a drawer to expose a loaded handgun (did he have a license to carry?), who was disarmed and physically abusive toward police officers and told a female officer he wanted to shove the weapon up her “a—,” he or she would be gone. I couldn’t imagine how any rational supervisor or colleague could let him continue.
We now learn a Republican Baltimore County councilman has done all that, and with weird expressions of support from other elected officials, continues his public service (“Baltimore County Councilman Crandell appears combative in police body camera footage,” Aug. 21). Am I missing something here? Such as reality.
