Known as Maryland’s state dessert, the Smith Island Cake is characterized by its 10 thin, alternating layers of yellow cake and rich, fudge-adjacent chocolate frosting. Since 2018, Smith Island Bakery in Ewell, has exclusively churned out its version of this quintessential regional treat, aided in authenticity by the bakery’s Smith Island location.
The 2,772-square-foot property at 20926 Caleb Jones Road, which was originally built in 1930, is now listed for sale on Bright MLS for $354,900.
