Food Lion has issued a recall for several types of ground beef sold at its Glen Burnie store due to concerns about possible contamination.
According to the supermarket chain, some of the products may contain traces of an unidentified “foreign material.” The affected items were sold at the Food Lion located at 7069 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard.
The recall covers four varieties of ground beef prepared in-store.
The product was produced on July 4 after 2 p.m. with a sell by date of July 6.
The affected product includes all sizes of 73% lean fresh ground beef, all sizes; 80% lean fresh ground chuck, all sizes; 85% lean fresh ground beef round, all sizes; and 93% lean fresh ground beef,small pack.
Food Lion asks that customers who purchased the affected product should not consume it. They may may return it for a refund equal to double the purchase price
The store said there are currently no complaints or reports of illness.
