Philip Low, a former longtime friend of Elon Musk, has warned that the Silicon Valley giant will do “everything” in his power to damage President Donald Trump, according to Politico.
Musk had a public falling out with the president after departing his role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency in May. Since then, he has attacked Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” and even accused the president of being listed among the clients of sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
Low warned Musk will continue to stoop down to destabilize Trump.
“I’ve had my share of blowouts with Elon over the years,” Low told the publication. “Knowing Elon the way I know him, I do think he’s going to do everything to damage the president.”
Low esaid Musk’s deep involvement with Trump’s presidential campaign led him to become frustrated when the president failed to uphold some of his promises, like eliminating government debt.
“He has been humiliated,” Low said of Musk, CEO of Tesla. “The whole idea that Elon is going to be on his side and help woo Congress and invest in election campaigns for right-wing judges — Elon might do all of that, but deep down, it’s over.”
Low said Musk is not illusioned by Trump’s powerful status. He likely sees Trump as “just a human being,” Low said.
Musk continues to launch attacks against the “One Big Beautiful Bill” via his social media site X. He most recently shared a statement from the North America Building Trades Union which described the bill as “the biggest job-killing bill in our country’s history.” This is what Musk wrote over the weekend:
“The latest Senate draft bill will destroy millions of jobs in American and cause immense strategic harm to our country!” he wrote. “Utterly insane and destructive. It gives handouts to industries of the past while severely damaging industries of the future.”
Trump said in a Sunday appearance on Fox News he has not spoken to Musk recently, but believes he is a “wonderful guy.”
“I know he’s going to do well, he’s a smart guy,” Trump said of Musk. “He actually went and campaigned with me and this and that. But he got a little bit upset.”
